Ice Cream Can Banjo

Project Details

I was at my parents home and came across a collection of these ice cream tins. I thought they would make a nice banjo. I love the character in them, including the spoon marks on the bottom made from my dad. I shared the idea of making one on my instagram account. I was contacted by a former student and current friend who was looking to get into playing the banjo. We thought making one of these tins into a banjo would be a good place to start. I thought this "Highlight of the Neighborhood" tin suited her. The charter oak leaf inlay in the head stock is a leaf from her state tree.
