Large ceramic "gourd" banjo

Project Details

A couple years before this instrument I made a smaller ceramic body banjo. I really enjoyed the tone of it but it was quieter than I would have liked. So I made a larger ceramic body this time around. This instrument is a joy to play. It has a deep wonderful resonance and great balance. To match the size I tried a longer 26.5 inch scale. The pot is 14 in across with a 8 in goatskin head. The neck is made of cherry and maple with a maple nut and bridge. It has a cherry tail piece and ebony pegs. This is available for purchase in the online store.
