As part of a series of tools derived from body parts these Thumbtack hammers carry the form of the original tack hammer used by upholsters. Tack hammers are normally magnetic at the end of the split to hold a tack in place while it is being set. Mine could not be as they are cast out of silicon bronze. Each of the three made were handled differently.;one with padauk, one with walnut, and one with steam bent pecan.
