Vellum and Snakeskin was a response to this room of the home being a library. I thought it would be interesting to use the language of the folding library ladder in the space. There are 6 main architecual post in the room. I see these ladders being in a way the animation of these posts opening up. They are weatherproofed on the outside though a Japanese process called “Shou Sugi Ban” while the ladder rungs are left completely raw and vulnerable.
